Dorothy Shedlow Lund died peacefully at her home in Flushing on January 5, surrounded by her family.Born May 3,1929 in Ridgewood Queens, she was a proud lifelong New York City resident. She worked as an executive secretary for Norwegian American Lines and there met her husband, Joseph, who told his friends after meeting her for 5 minutes that he had just met the girl he was going to marry. She was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan and never forgave them for moving to Los Angeles in 1958. She also enjoyed and loved animals including many pet cats, dogs and birds.She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Joseph Lund, her daughter Joanne Lund and husband Brian Dougherty, Pipersville, PA, daughter Dale Lund Eyring and husband David Eyring, Flushing NY, and three grandsons, Jonathan Jimenez, Venice, FL, Christopher Jimenez and Zachary Jimenez, Pinellas Park, FL.Viewing to be held Tuesday January 8 at Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home, 36-46 Bell Blvd, Bayside. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the North Shore Animal League in her memory.
