RAYMOND CHAPUT Raymond J. Chaput, 79, passed away November 15, 2018, from Mesothelioma, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Ray was born in Michigan and was a 44 year resident of Las Vegas. Ray retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer, he loved his job and the people he worked with. Ray was a father and grandfather who loved attending all the athletic events and musical performances of his children and grandchildren up until his last few days, he was very proud of his family. Ray was an accomplished athlete himself in baseball and football. Ray loved playing golf, playing live poker, online poker and riding motorcycles. Raymond had a gift to be able to talk to anyone, he met friends wherever he went. He is greatly missed by his family and many friends from the railroad, golf and old friends in Michigan who referred to him as "Shep." Raymond was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Anthony Miller. Ray is survived by his sister Donna, his wife Diane, children Michele (Shawn) grandchildren Brittany, Dustin and Jason , Mark (Cindy), Nicole (Brandon) grandchildren Jack and Casey. His five grandchildren will miss his jokes and his singing of 50's & 60's song during their morning drives to school. One of Raymond's motto's to his children, grandchildren and friends was "Do As I Say, Not As I Do!" We Love and Miss You and will cherish every memory, your legacy will live on. I can no longer see you with my eyes but I will feel you in my heart forever. Thank you to the Southwest Medical Hospice, they were wonderful. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Mon.
