Bruce A. Gates Gentryville, Indiana Gentryville, IN. – Bruce A. Gates, 70, of Gentryville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Bruce was born on September 16, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Robert and Helen Rosalie (Leonard) Gates. Bruce retired from ALCOA as a welder after many years of service. He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam and was a Disabled American Veteran. Bruce was also member of the VFW in Dale and Garrison Chapel Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, William. Bruce is survived by his wife Barbara Gates; children, Andrew Gates (Ronda); William Gates; Sarah Gates (Chad Ryan); grandchildren, Zachary, Christopher, Logan, Christian, Brooklyn, Sam, Jake, Charlie; great-grandson, Carson; brothers, Robert Gates (Pat); Jerry Gates (Mary); Kenny Gates (Connie); sister, Linda Kerchief; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 A.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Joel Grigsby officiating. Burial will be at Garrison Chapel Cemetery in Tennyson, Indiana with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the funeral home and again from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Sunday.
