SKOWHEGAN - On Nov. 13, 2018, my dad, Manley 0. Gower, passed away. He was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Skowhegan, the son of Lloyd and Vivian (Corson) Gower who predeceased him. He was educated in Skowhegan and graduated in 1948. He was a self-made man, building many of his own businesses. He owned and operated his own excavation business. He also sold Arctic Cat snowmobiles,and co-owned the Benton Storage Units with his daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Ronald. He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and driving any equipment he could find. He was also predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Gower, Jr. and a sister Althea Gower; his loving wife of 59 years, Jean (Henderson) Gower, his special companion of 15 years; his dog Patsy; also a best friend and hunting buddy, who he thought of as a grandson, Michael Butler. He is survived by a sister Marion Dickey; his daughter Cheryl Bickford and husband Ronald who took care of him for the last three years and shared some very special memories, their children Lori and Carl Pierce and their children, Kelsey Hamlin, Gabby and Nate Pierce; Justin Bickford and his children Shania Bridges and Brody Bickford; Heather and Sanford Goodwin and their children, Reise and Bryce Goodwin; also four great-great- grandchildren; a good friend, Mark Blodgett, who would take him up to his favorite place, his hunting camp; and lastly but not least his great friend Leanne Bolduc who will dearly miss him. You can now rest in peace Dad! We will all miss you and we love you so much.
