William C. Clapper, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at home. Born September 5, 1949 in Altoona, he was the son of Wilma V. (Verbonitz) Clapper of Hollidaysburg and the late Clyde E. Clapper. Bill worked as a database computer programmer for Highmark with over 30 years of dedicated service. Bill loved spending time with his wife and together they enjoyed biking, hiking, ballroom dancing and camping with his family. He was an avid reader and enjoyed astronomy. William is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Donna L. (Forsberg) Clapper; daughter, Rebecca D. Clapper-Pautz of Dover; four siblings, Christine Clapper of Duncansville, Susan Croyle and husband Michael of Petersburg, Nancy Clapper-Diehl of Norris, SD, Daniel Clapper and wife Theresa of Centre Hall; brother-in-law, Don Forsberg, Jr. of Fl; two grandchildren, Alex and Sierra Pautz; nephew Dillon Forsberg; niece, Kaitlyn Forsberg. Memorial services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
