Michelle L. Briggs
Michelle Lee "Shelly" Briggs, 40, of Southwest Greensburg, passed away in her home Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018. She was born Feb. 6, 1978, in Jeannette, a daughter of Cheryl L. Briggs, of Greensburg and the late James E. Briggs Jr. She was also preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mary L. Phillips and Glenna Schlessinger, both of Greensburg; her grandfather, James E. Briggs Sr., of Smithton; and her stepgrandfather, Rudolph Phillips, of Greensburg. In addition to her mother, Shelly is survived by her son, Tony Salandra, of Saltsburg; her fiance, Joseph Valerio, of Southwest Greensburg; his children, Brandon Valerio, of Youngwood, and Victoria Valerio, of Florida; grandson, Dominick Valerio, of Florida; her sisters, Rachel Townsend and Glenn Evans and Heather Briggs and Tracy Higdon; her brother, James E. Briggs Jr., all of Greensburg; her grandfather, Walt Bruggeman, of Trafford; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Shelly was loving, happy and supportive, and was loved by all who knew her. She had a smile you never forgot and an infectious laugh that kept you holding your side. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed going to her son Tony's dirt bike races; she called him "Slick." Shelly was so proud of all of his accomplishments and was his biggest fan. She also loved spending time with Joe and her furry friend, Honda, taking hikes outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. She loved listening to her brother Jimmy pick his guitar and sing. She also enjoyed having get-togethers with her sisters, Heather and Rachel. They laughed until they cried. Her mom Cheryl will miss her with all her heart. Until we meet again in a life that has no end, no pain, no more death, sickness or sorrow. Rev. 21:3-4. We love you Shelly. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shelly's name for her love of animals to All But Furgotten, 70 Carpenter Lane, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. www.bachafh.com .
