Lorenzo Rosato
Lorenzo Rosato Lorenzo Rosato passed away on Dec. 2, 2018, at the age of 94. Born on Dec. 3, 1923, in Roseto Valfortore, Italy, to Maria (Petruccelli) and Nicola Rosato, Lorenzo served in the Italian Army during World War II, and afterwards took up an apprentice in Rome, Italy, to become a tailor. He returned to his home town in Roseto and opened his own tailor shop before coming to America in 1955. It was shortly after that he married Anna Spagnola, continued his trade as a tailor, and began a family in Bangor, PA. He served the community as a master tailor for more than 30 years, was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Roseto, PA, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His loving wife, Anna (Spagnola), who he was married to for 58 years, passed away in 2013. Lorenzo has a sister, Anna D'Avanzo, who resides in Silver Spring, MD, and a brother, Nicola, who passed in 2013. He is survived by three sons, Nicholas and his wife, Jane Hill- Rosato of Bangor; Lawrence of Bangor, and Mario and his wife Marybeth Rosato of Gainesville, VA, and grandchildren, Domenick, Salvator, Brittany, Jonathan, and Meridyth, and one great-grandchild, Tony. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Third and Garibaldi Aves., Roseto. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Roseto. The Fiore Funeral Home, fiorefuneralhome.com , 230 Market St., Bangor, PA, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered in Lorenzo's name to the Slate Belt Knights of Columbus, 1680 West Bangor Road, Bangor, PA 18013.
