Gress LYLE EDWARD GRESS May 1, 1934 November 29, 2018 Lyle Edward Gress, age 84, passed away at his home in Woodland Park, CO, on November 29, 2018. He was born on May 1, 1934 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Edward and Oriene (Denison) Gress. Lyle graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1952 and went on to Colorado A&M before spending time in the Navy. After returning from service, he finished his accounting degree at Denver University. He started his career working for Public Service followed by the Internal Revenue Service before being transferred to Sterling, CO after which he opened his own accounting practice for more than 30 years. Lyle married Norma Lee (Ohlson) on June 22, 1958, and they were fortunate to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this past summer. He is survived by his wife, Norma, his two beloved fur companions Moka and Arnie, his two daughters Kerry Gress of Erie, CO and Amy (Greg) McLaren of Topeka, KS, grandchildren: Mike (Holly) Gress, Kyle (Erica) Gress, Tara Gress, Kristen McLaren (Ben) Wooten, Lauren, Tyler, and Reagan Russell as well as 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, a son Steve Gress, a grandson Andy McLaren, his sister Jackie Gress Culmann, and his step mother Helen Gress. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) or your local animal shelter. The family had a private gathering at the Woodland Park Community Church.
