David Jerome Dawson March 31, 1943 - Nov. 23, 2018 David Jerome Dawson died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 surrounded by family. David was born to Melvin Richard Dawson and Louise Merle Belard-Dawson in Portland. He attended Cleveland and Jefferson High Schools and Portland State University. David was a paratrooper in the Army during the Korean Conflict. David's love of music was manifested as one of the original owners of the House of Sound, the hub of music in N.E. Portland in the 70s/80s. David spent the rest of his life in quiet Scotts Mills, Ore., where he retired as a truck driver and enjoyed solitude taking care of his property. He loved mechanics, automobiles and trucks. He had a passion for electronics and technology and helping people with system problems. David looked forward to joining his mother, Louise; father, Melvin; stepfather, Woodrow Eddie Wilson, Sr.; twin sister, Donna Louise Dawson-Frank; and sister, Deborah Lee Wilson-Greenwood who preceded him to the afterlife. David is survived by sons, Che' Carlyle Dawson (wife Kelly) and Michael Anthony King. David loved his grandsons, Miles Dawson, Malik Dawson, Michael King, Jr., Laron King and Arman'd King. David had 10 great-grandchildren. David will be missed by sisters, Rachelle Dawson-Bagley (husband Clyde), Melva Dawson-Moore; brothers, Russell Allen Dawson, Woodrow Eddie Wilson, Jr. and Timothy Wayne Wilson; and special friend, January Roeschlaub.
