Anthony J.'Dutch' Cicero, 92 WWII Navy veteran, lifelong Staten Islander Anthony J. "Dutch" Cicero, 92, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. Born in New Brighton, he was a graduate of Curtis High School and Wagner College. Anthony was a World War II Navy combat veteran who saw action in the Pacific theatre. Blessed with two careers, he retired from the NYC Police Department and later from the Internal Revenue Service. He was a longtime parishioner and usher at OLQP. Many knew Dutch to be loquacious and unambiguous. His life was about service to his Country, his City, his Church and his family. He leaves behind the love of his life, Jean, his devoted wife of over 64 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Linda; his son, Joseph; his beloved daughter-in-law, Carolyn; cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Anthony and Kasey, and his loving neighbors and friends. Visitation will be held at Hanley Funeral Home today, Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral is Thursday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, followed by interment at Moravian Cemetery.
