Stefanie Anne Dobben
GORHAM - Stefanie Anne Dobben, 49, passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018.  She was a loving mother, devoted wife, dedicated teacher, inspirational friend, and strong Christian who loved reading, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her family.Stefanie grew up in Eliot the youngest daughter of Rupert Baglivo and Beverly Ryan.  Following in her beloved father's footsteps, she attended USM studying Elementary Education as an undergrad and Literacy Education for her masters degree. It was at USM that she met the love of her life, Scott. Scott and Stefanie married in 1991. A few years later they welcomed their only child and Stefanie's second love of her life, Sophia.Teaching was a large part of Stefanie's life for the last 27 years. She began her career in the Cumberland School Department at North Yarmouth Memorial School in 1991.  During her eight years in Cumberland she served as an Ed Tech, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher.  In 1999 she brought her love of teaching to the Westbrook School Department at Canal School where she served as a 3rd grade teacher, literacy specialist, and Title 1 teacher.  The last six years of her career were at Saccarappa School as a Title 1 reading teacher.Stefanie was strong in her faith with God.  She blessed many with her beautiful voice as a member of the First Baptist Church choir.  She was a member of the Life Church in Gorham.  There she served on the First Impressions Team, greeting attendees with a warm smile when they arrived for worship. Stefanie is survived by her husband, Scott;and daughter, Sophia, both of Gorham; her sister, Risa Baglivo and niece, Oliva Garland, of Windham and several cousins. A celebration of her life will be held at the Life Church on 8 Elkins Road in Gorham on Dec. 7, 2018 at 4:30.Please visit www.advantageportland.com to sign Stefanie's guestbook and leave memories and condolences for the family.Donations will becollected at the celebration of hardcover children's books and dedicatedin her memory to:Saccarappa's library.
