ST. ALBANS - Herbert C. Hunt Jr., 76, died peacefully on Nov. 28, 2018, in Augusta. Herb was born on May 3, 1942, in Bath, the son of Herbert Hunt Sr. and Ruth Mary Kennerson Neilson and attended schools in Fort Fairfield. Trucking was Herb's life for 57 years. He traveled throughout every state in America, as well as into Canada and Mexico. He could give you directions on how to get anywhere by memory. He was a human GPS! He loved fishing and buying boats. His prize possession was his constant companion and beloved Poodle, Bear. He is survived by three daughters, Lisa, Brenda and Rhonda; his sister, Frances Casey and her partner, Gary Hamilton of Farmingdale, his brother, Herbert I. Hunt and wife, Lisa of Pittsfield; special nephew, Blair Tinkham and his wife, Lynn and their five children: Campton, Parker, Tilden, Boden and Sidone; and very special friends, John Williams and his companion, Brenda Crocker of Detroit. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Ruth and Frank Neilson; and his sister, Linda Nadeau. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Sebasticook Valley Hospital and MaineGeneral Health Center for their wonderful care of Herb. A time of visiting will be held from 4-6 p.m., with a funeral service at 6 p.m., Thursday, December 6, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield.
