Charles Allen "Al" Kalloch
FARMINGDALE - Charles Allen "Al" Kalloch, 78, of Farmingdale, died Tuesday Nov. 27, 2018 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation-Glenridge in Augusta. Al was born in Gardiner Jan. 21, 1940, the son of George and Madelyn (Gasper) Kalloch. He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1957. He joined the Marines, serving honorably for four years with a lot of time on the USS Saratoga. He went on to work at several jobs, including Rexnord in Massachusetts for ten years then back in Maine, working for many years at Crooker Construction and others until retirement well into his 70's, running pavers and rollers. Al fought a very courageous battle with Alzheimer's, spending one month at the Alzheimer's assisted living facility in Gardiner and the last ten months at Glenridge Rehabilitation in Augusta. He was known for always having a smile on his face. He loved snowmobiling, being a member of the Barnstormers Snowmobile Club for over 30 years. One of his snowmobiling highlights was going to Yellowstone for several days of riding. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling with Nancy and the granddaughters and did he ever love those Boston sports teams. Mr. Kalloch was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Madelyn and Arnold Rogers and his father, George Kalloch; his son, Charles "Ron" Kalloch; and his brothers, Richard, Kenneth, Douglas, and Wayne Kalloch. He is survived by his partner of over 33 years, Nancy Frost; his daughter Candy Tollison of South Carolina, his son Dwayne Kalloch and his partner Yvette Nadeau of Fort Kent, his daughter Koren Dyer and her partner Greg Lindholm of Augusta; his grandchildren, Jessica Tollison, Brandie Riddle, Justin Cole, Bailey Kalloch, Cecilia Fuller, Lindsey Kalloch, Angelina Romano, and Julie Lindley; two great-grandsons, Dylan Riddle and Landon Cole; and his brothers, Roger Kalloch, Arnold "Nick" Rogers and Bill Rogers. Al's family would like to extend a special thank you to Glenridge and Androscoggin Hospice Care for the care given to him. Relatives and friends may visit at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Saturday Dec. 8, 2018 from 1 - 4 p.m. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
