James "Buddy" Lassiter
James "Buddy" Lassiter Pensacola - James "Buddy" Lassiter, 56, died Sept. 1, 2006. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, at Barrancas National Cemetery. Visitation will be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home (850-453-2321) from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Monday. James was born Sept. 10, 1949 in Kingport, Tenn. He graduated from Florida High in Tallahassee in 1967. He served 32 years in the military and retired from the U.S. Navy Seabees as a Master Chief in 1999. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 240, in Pensacola. James is survived by his wife, Carol; two children, Amy Marie (Lassiter) Waite of Pensacola, and James F. Lassiter II of Seattle, Wash.; a granddaughter, Dominique Lassiter, of Crestwood, Ill.; and his mother Frances Lassiter Hines, of Tallahassee. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles O. Lassiter and his brother, Charles "Rusty" Lassiter.
