Dilia Benavides Lott Corpus Christi, TX Dilia was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 25, 1958. She passed on October 29, 2018. Her family mourns at home. In Heaven, the angels are singing. She is survived by her husband, Mark Lott; daughter, Mercedes Lott; grandson, Oscar Salazar, III (all from Corpus Christi) and her son Oscar Salazar, Jr. (Jackson, Mississippi). She is also survived by her parents, Alicia Guevara Benevidez (Corpus Christi), Gustavo Benavidez and step-mother, Barbara Benavidez (Corpus Christi), siblings Norma Benavides (Corpus Christi), Rene Benavides (San Antonio), Debbie Benavidez (Corpus Christi), Brenda Ricketts and her husband Brian (Sarco) Michael Benavidez and wife Rosa Mirika (Grand Prairie), and may nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Dilia was a brave, loyal, and sweet partner, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved life. She loved her family and was ever smiling. She was thoughtful and cared about others. She would not be defined by her final condition and did not surrender to it. The family would like to thank everyone involved with her treatment, especially her special friend at the hospital, Lene Williams, who went over and above to help and make an unbearable situation tolerable. A memorial service will be announced. In lieu of flowers, Dilia asked that contributions be made to the Corpus Christi Woman's Shelter.
