James A. Frey
James A. Frey of Soldotna, Alaska, died peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 2, 2018, at a friend's home in Salem, Oregon. Born on Oct. 20, 1961, in Fort Bragg to John Frey and Evelyn Rabourn, he was 56 years old. After growing up in Fort Bragg, James worked as a fisherman, gold miner and mechanic. His hobbies included cars, gold mining, the outdoors and mushroom picking. He was most proud of his daughters and his "Million Dollar Ideas." James leaves behind his daughters, Jessica L'Allier, Jamie Frey and Clarissa Frey; grandchildren, Josh, Evelyn, Lyleigh, Shawn and Rowen; and his siblings, Jeanne, Diana, Hazel and Michael. His parents predeceased him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Fort Bragg.
