Theresa M. Balcavage
Theresa M. Balcavage, 89, of Minersville, passed away on Sunday at Schuylkill Center. Born in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Mack Weismiller. She attended Blythe Township schools before moving to Minersville. She was employed in the local garment industry and operated Timmy's Catering with her late husband for a number of years. She was a member of ILGWU. While working in the factory and managing the catering business, Theresa kept an immaculate home, and always found time to cook a sit-down meal each night for her family. Later in life, she enjoyed reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Balcavage, on June 6, 2000; a daughter, Shirley Clemko, and her son-in-law, Jack Clemko; two sisters, Betty Buffington and Lillian Heffner. Theresa is survived by two children, Thomas J. Balcavage (spouse, Anne Stone), Moorestown, N.J., and Susan Guthrie (spouse, Josh), Minersville; five grandchildren, Carisa Wowak, Timothy and Thomas Balcavage, Theresa Guthrie and Sarah Quinn; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Juliane and Caroline Wowak, and Charles Quinn; nieces, Mary Lou Bainbridge and Elaine Brobst; nephew, Bob Heffner. Relatives and friends may call from 8 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Branch Township.
