INDEPENDENCE – Ronald E. Lentzkow, 83 years old, of Independence, died on Thursday, October 11, at Lexington Estate in Independence. He was born on August 17, 1935, in Independence, the son of William John and Dora Minnie (Gosse) Lentzkow. He graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1953. On April 16, 1955, he and the former Sharon Ann Cragg were married in Dubuque. Ron was a carpenter like his father and brothers. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence. He loved singing in the choir. He was a member of the Independence Bowlers Hall of Fame. Ron is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon; two daughters: Linda (Russell) Kiefer of Oxford Junction, and Ellen (Terry) Bloomquist of Cedar Rapids; two sons: Steve (Linda) Lentzkow of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Mark (Sarah Grover) Lentzkow of Peoria, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great granddaughter, Claire Tiernan; three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Sue Ann Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
