Olga Honyara
Olga Honyara, 90, of Minersville, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street. Born in Primrose, Cass Township, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Drahusczak Peron. She was a 1946 graduate of Cass Township High School. She worked for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Ill. Upon returning to Schuylkill County, she worked in the local garment industry. She later worked at the former Miracle Mart and Intermediate Unit 29, Mar Lin. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. She helped with maintenance at the former Ss. Peter & Paul School, and also enjoyed cooking as a volunteer at St. Nicholas Catering. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Honyara, in 2004. She was also preceded by three brothers, Frank Peron, John Peron and Steve Peron; three sisters, Anne Wietecha, Helen Lipko Latanishen and Mary Schultz. Olga is survived by 18 nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 until 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville, with Office of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Branch Township.
