Whit Lester Pettit, Jr.
Mr. Whit Lester Pettit, Jr., 94, of Marietta, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Marietta. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Mr. Pettit was of the Methodist Faith, a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from the accounting department at Georgia Marble.  He enjoyed singing gospel music, especially as a member of his gospel group. He loved reading, vacationing at the beach and listening to classical music. Most of all, he cherished the companionship of his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his four sisters, Louise Caldwell, Ruth McConnel, Gladys Payne, Faye Fowler and three brothers, Hubert Pettit, Dillard Pettit and Clarence Pettit.
