Jean P. Martin
Jean P. Martin, 83, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Birchwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Nanticoke. Born in Slocum Twp., she was a daughter of the late James and Myrtle Lutz George Sr. Jean was a member of Stairville United Methodist Church, Wapwallopen. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Jean worked for many years as a vision screener for the Association of the Blind, a position that gave her great pride and a job that gave her much satisfaction. Jean loved gardening and butterflies, but really enjoyed all facets of being outside in nature. Jean was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her daughter, Darlene Martin, and her brother, James George Jr. Jean is survived by her son, Billy Martin and his wife, Mary, Wapwallopen; granddaughter, Meredith Martin and her companion, Samuel Forman; sister, Jane Wolfe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean's funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Stairville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Stairville Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked for Northeast Sight Services, 1825 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA 18643. McCune Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
