In memory of
Mary Ann Barger
Mary Ann Barger King Ferry - Mary Ann Barger, 66, of King Ferry, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Mary Ann went by many names. Some of the favorites were Beaner for her love of beans, and Sis or Sissy by her younger siblings. Born April 4, 1952, Beaner faced some difficulties in her life. She couldn't see, carry on a conversation or do many things people take for granted every day. But she found great joy in a good meal and listening to music, especially her "golden oldies." She loved to dance and have a good time. Beaner was great at recognizing the voice of any visitor. With a memory like a steel trap, she could recall conversations word for word (sometimes much to the chagrin of others). Nothing escaped her attention. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Barger, siblings Mike Barger, Judy (Wiz) Withers, Kathy (Dana) Shipos, Gary (Maureen) Barger, aunts and uncles and many cousins, and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Beaner is preceded in death by her doting father, William "Bill" Barger and her youngest sister Billie Jo (Roger) Schnock. The family will be holding private services for Beaner. Donations can be made in her name to Family & Children's Services of Ithaca, 127 W. State St. Ithaca NY 14850 ( http://FCSIth.org ). To honor her memory, please put on a good song, dance, and have a good time. Beaner would have liked that.
