Janet D. Southern April 28, 1928 - September 17, 2018 Byron, GA- Janet Davis Southern, 90, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on the evening of Monday, September 17, 2018. Ms. Southern was born on April 28, 1928 in Barnesville, Georgia to the late William Crispin and Willie Frances Thurmond Davis. The family later moved to Warner Robins where Janet was a member of the first graduating class of Warner Robins High School in 1945. She retired from Goodwill Nursing Home in Macon where she worked many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her children, Joy Hall and Cynthia Cavanaugh, and her sisters, Marie Hitchcock and Chris Grisham. Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Joan Reese of Musella, and son, Lee Southern (Nancy) of Byron; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
