Darrell Brown
Darrell Brown Nov. 11, 1951 - Sept. 5, 2018 Resident of Gilroy Darrell Fremont Brown passed into the arms of his heavenly Savior, Jesus, on September 5, 2018 after a short battle with ALS. Darrell was predeceased by his parents Paul and Alice Brown of Saratoga. Darrell, is survived by his wife of almost 21 years, Anne Wirth Brown; his son Brian Brown and his wife Kelly and their children Nora, Evelyn and Theo; his son Matthew Brown and his wife Kristin and their children Landon and Ethan; and his step-daughter Naoma Wirth Lee and her children Connor, Erik, and Anna Kate. In addition, Darrell is survived by his three sisters, Diane Brown, Judy Arreygue, and Jana Galt, their spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends. Born in Seattle, WA, on Nov 11, 1951, Darrell's family moved frequently until they settled in the Bay Area in 1957. Darrell was raised in Saratoga, attended Saratoga High, West Valley College and San Jose State. Darrell had a long successful career in sales. In 1997, Darrell married his wife Anne whom he loved dearly and affectionately called "Missy". He also fiercely loved his children and grandchildren. More than anything, he enjoyed large family gatherings, celebrating birthdays and other holidays, and laughing at his own jokes. His sisters' birthdays never went by without his calling to say, "Happy birthday from your favorite brother!" Darrell's other passions were gardening, cooking, barbequing, hunting, golfing, teaching his children/grandchildren to fish, playing Bridge and Hearts, and walking his Yellow Labrador Murphy. Darrell had a strong faith in Jesus and was active in the Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos where he participated in Small Groups, Bible Studies, and, along with Anne, promoted and volunteered with Family Life Marriage Conferences. Darrell relied on his faith in many challenging circumstances, including this final battle with ALS. Darrell loved others well, and in return was well-loved by all around him. He wanted everyone to know the importance of knowing Jesus Christ as Savior. In lieu of flowers please make gifts to The ALS Society, www.alsa.org Memorial service to be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00am: Lone Hill Church, 5055 Lone Hill Road, Los Gatos 95032.
