Stephania Jill (Swanson) Ford
Stephania Jill (Swanson) Ford passed away on Monday Sept. 10, 2018, in her home in Perry, MI, surrounded by her family and beloved dogs, after a long battle with cancer. Stephania is survived by her husband Bradley Ford, daughter Jessica (Ford) Sawatzki, son-in-law Andrew Sawatzki, brothers Richard Swanson, Timothy Swanson, Mathew Swanson and Jerry Swanson, aunt Elaine Hunt, her beloved dogs Caesar, Astro and Olive, and countless friends which she considered family. Stephania was predeceased by her son Bradley "Jay" Ford, her uncle Francis "Buck" Hunt and her darling pug Keebler. Stephania was a 1979 graduate of Westerly High School and graduated from Michigan State University. She also worked at MSU until she retired two years ago. She loved baking, shopping with her daughter, Pugs, music, and being surrounded by friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Perry, MI. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home today, Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted at the Sparrow Foundation c/o Bradley's Legacy, 1322 E Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912 or at www.sparrowfoundation.org .
