Dallas F. "Jack" Shepard
MOUNT STORM- Dallas F. "Jack" Shepard, 80, of Mount Storm, WV, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on October 30, 1937 at Mount Storm, WV, he was a son of the late William Henry and Corene (Kitzmiller) Shepard. He also was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth Ann Shepard. Mr. Shepard was a graduate of Bayard High School and was retired as a coal miner with both Island Creek Coal Company and Laurel Run Mining Company. Presbyterian by faith, he proudly served his country in the US Army and was a lifetime member of both Abraham Lincoln Post # 6735, VFW in Mount Storm and American Legion Post # 78, Petersburg, WV. Surviving is his brother, William J. Shepard of Mount Storm; a special friend, Deloris Lloyd of Mount Storm and numerous cousins. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mount Storm Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Davis officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be accorded.
