He always enjoyed watching sports on TV and following his favorite teams and players. Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Barnum) Johnson; daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Hoppe of Rockford, IL and Diane (Robert) Morgan of Long Beach, CA; 4 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ruth (Hemmens) Johnson; son, Douglas (Rebecca Frost) Johnson; and brother, William "Bill" Johnson. Dick was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Interment will be at 11 a.m. September 22nd, at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL, with a fellowship following at the Belvidere First United Methodist Church.
