Pauline E. Shryock
Pauline E. Shryock, 96, of rural Jacksonville, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at her residence. She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Morgan County, Ill., the daughter of Clifford, Sr. and Irene Cannon Gillis. She married Eugene Leo Shryock on Nov. 22, 1974, in Bowling Green, Mo., and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1978. She is survived by her grandson; Michael (Michelle) Buckman of Petersburg, Ill., three great-grandchildren, one step-great grandson, one sister; Mary Flowers of rural Jacksonville, Ill. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Emma Calhoun (surviving husband, Wayne of Ashland), one grandchild in infancy and three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Shryock retired from Illinois School of the Deaf. She was always on the go, loved working in her yard, and remodeling her home. The family held a graveside memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Ebenezer Cemetery, north of Jacksonville, Ill.. Memorial gifts are suggested to P.A.W.S.
