Davis B. "Dave" Beuscher
Davis B. "Dave" Beuscher PEKIN - Davis B. "Dave" Beuscher, 80, of Pekin, formerly of Tremont, passed away at 7:01 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at UnityPoint Health-Pekin Emergency Room. He was born on February 22, 1938, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Louis and Frances Anderson Beuscher. He married Shonna Parker on July 17, 1971, in Decatur, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, April (Curt) Herrin of Tremont and Sara (Cory) Burnett of Bloomington; and three grandchildren, Parker and Ava Herrin and Luke Burnett. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dave graduated from Eureka College with a BS in biology. He retired from Illinois State Water Survey as a microbiologist in 1994. In his retirement, he was a gemologist for Jones's Brothers Jewelers in Pekin. He served in the U.S. Army in the Chemical Corp at the Germ Warfare Lab at Fort Detrick in Maryland. Dave was a member of the Streator Masonic Lodge, Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite and First Methodist Church in Pekin. He enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, traveling and reading and was a car enthusiast, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family on vacations. Cremation has been accorded. There will be no service or visitation, but the family will receive friends between 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Beuscher home, 2809 Black Oak Drive, Pekin. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Tremont District 702 or Tri-Valley Educational Foundation.
