EARLEY JOAN M. Passed to eternal life on September 11, 2018, after years of battling Stage 1V melanoma cancer. She attended St. Joseph's College and Rosemont College and worked for the Treasury Department of the Pennsylvania Railway before her marriage to John F. A. Earley, Jr. "Jake" a Philadelphia patent attorney. Predeceased by her husband and daughters, Bobbie Ann and Mary, Joan is survived by her children, John F.A. Earley III (Mary) of Exton, Meredith Earley of Gladwyne, Philip Earley (Karen) of Berwyn, Courtney Earley of Cape Cod. MA; her sister, Sr. Barbara English SND of Baltimore MD; grandchildren, Mary Heather Maconaghy (Andrew), Tess Lombardi (John), Philip Earley (Emily), Lindsay Earley (Hunter Gordon), and great-grandchild, Meredith Maconaghy. Joan was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, Philadelphia Country Club, Merion Cricket Club, Union League of Philadelphia, Tequesta Country Club, FL, Sedgeley Club, Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute's Women's Auxiliary, The Garden Club of Bala Cynwyd and Seed and Weed Garden Club. Her greatest joys in life were feeding her family and friends, playing bridge and golf, singing in her church choir, traveling with her family, and planting in her garden. All are invited to celebrate her life at the Mass of Resurrection, St. John Vianney Church, Youngsford and Conshohocken Roads, Gladwyne PA, at 11 A.M., on Saturday, September 15th. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St John Vianney Choir - 1110 Vaughan's Lane, Gladwyne PA 19035.
