In memory of
Margaret Arndt
ARNDT (Cook), Margaret "Peggy" Age 89, loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, formerly of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully September 3, 2018 in Holland, Michigan. Peggy was the daughter of Louis and May Cook. She was born on November 16, 1928 in Newport, Ky, raised with her sister Dorothy Cook Northcott in Fort Thomas, Ky, and graduated from Highlands High School in 1946. While pursuing a brief career in Cincinnati she met her future husband, Don, at Cincinnati's Moonlight Gardens. They were married in 1952 and lived in Hamilton, Ohio where they started many successful businesses. While raising 4 children Peggy was managing the businesses. It seemed that Don would "create" and leave it up to Peggy to manage and pay for his "creations". Peggy and Don made time for vacations with their children to many parts of the country and together they traveled to numerous parts of the world for business and pleasure. They enjoyed a happy marriage of 52 years and were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary with their family in 2002. Peggy always had a keen sense of humor and this did not diminish as she struggled with her health in her last years. She was always, to the end, ready with a quick witted comment and a pleasant disposition. We are certain that Peggy would express her deep appreciation (and have a clever comment) to her caregivers in Florida, Texas, Ohio and especially Zeeland, Mi. where Peggy spent the last 2 years in the home of her son Scott. Peggy is survived by her daughter Donna Jones and her husband Mike of Dunedin Fl, son Robert Arndt and his wife Kathy of Coppell, Tx, daughter Tari Marcou of Dublin, Oh, son Scott Arndt of Zeeland, Mi. as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don,and 2 grandchildren, Alex Marcou and Matthew Arndt. A memorial service will be held at Dykstra Funeral Home 29 East Ninth Street Holland, Mi 49423 on Sept 16 at 1PM. A separate memorial will be held in the Cincinnati area at a date not yet determined. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, an organization dear to Peggy's heart.
