Joseph S. Dallas
Dallas, Joseph S. 1942 - 2018 Joseph S. Dallas, age 76, of Columbus, passed away surrounded by his family September 10, 2018. He was born January 20, 1942. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Anna Dallas, many aunts and uncles and his sister-in-law Jeanie Wiseman. Joe was a proud graduate of Bishop Watterson, class of 1960. He served in the Army National Guard and had the designation of Marksman. He owned Dallas Service Center, was a master mechanic and a volunteer Fire Fighter for Franklin Township for many years. Joe was a lifelong member of St. Margaret of Cortona Church and belonged the Mens Club, Young at Heart Club, and volunteered at the annual parish festival faithfully. He belonged to the American Italian Club, The Guild Athletic Club and The Bishop Ready Athletic Boosters Club. He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife. Joe was dedicated to his family and loved his friends dearly, especially his racing community. Joey is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kerma Dallas; his sister, Margherita Hennon; sister-in-law, Rebecca (John) Jesinski; his uncle, Col. Vince Oddi; and his children, Anna (Steve) Grund, Angelo Dallas, Evelyn (David) Brogan, and Trina Dallas. Joe adored all of his grandchildren, Joseph, Maria, Sophie, Angelo, Grace, Carlina, Marcello, Dominic and Amelia and enjoyed attending their activities. Joey is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe will be remembered as a hard worker, loyal friend and all around good man. Family will receive friends Sunday, September 16, 1-5pm with a prayer service at 4pm at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Monday, at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 N. Hague Ave. celebrated by Father Jeff Rimelspach. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Margaret of Cortona Church.
