Peter Mark Allen 1958 - 2018 Springfield , IL—Peter "Pete" Mark Allen, 60, of Springfield, passed away at 9:04 a.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his residence. Pete was born March 23, 1958 in Springfield, the son of Edward and Ella Lalley Allen. He married Diana Baker on April 27, 1984, she preceded him in death on August 30, 1998. Pete worked for the Department of Human Services since he was 16 years old. He enjoyed working on cars, motors, riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, watching the Steelers, and visiting thrift stores. He occasionally also enjoyed watching NASCAR and horse races. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his four sons, Cole Allen of Springfield, Cody Allen of Weldon, Clinton Allen of Springfield, and Colton Allen of Springfield; one step-son, Dylan Erwin of Springfield; one step-daughter, Danyale Thompson of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren, Addison Allen, Braylen Allen, Noah Mattison, Kinley Allen and Braxton Erwin; three siblings, Diane (husband, Bill) Davis of Girard, Mike Allen of Springfield, and Edna (husband, Dave) Robinson of Riverton; two nieces and two nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
