Bobb, Emerson Emerson L. Bobb, age 89, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community. He was born in Gahanna, Ohio on November 15, 1928 to the late Everett and Mary (Dunlap) Bobb and is also preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean (Fancher) Bobb in 2001 and daughter Linda Sue Bobb in 1991. Emerson is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Mark) McIntyre of Pataskala; granddaughter, Molly (Martin) Jones of Willoughby, OH; grandson, Michael McIntyre of Glendale, CA; great-grandson, Rhys Jones; brother, Richard (Betty) Bobb of Hendersonville, NC; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Emerson graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1946 and served in the US Army in Korea 1951 – 1952. He was awarded the Korean Presidential Citation with five major battle stars, the Combat Infantry Medal as well as many other ribbons and honors. Emerson graduated from Bliss Business College in 1954 with a business degree and a major in accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant, retiring after 35 years of service as a partner with John Gerlach and Company LLP. Emerson was a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, active in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma, and the Veterans of Foreign War. He was a 52 year member of the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church where a Memorial Service will be held 12 noon Friday, September 14, 2018 with a visitation 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Jeff Greenway officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Mifflin Cemetery. Contributions in Emerson's memory may be made to Wesley Hospice.
