Sister Jean Rosaria Fisch
ADRIAN - Sister Jean Rosaria Fisch, formerly known as Rita May Fisch, died on Sept. 8, 2018, at the Dominican Life Center, Adrian, Mich. She was 86 years of age and in the 68th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation. Sister Jean Rosaria was born in Appleton, Wis., to Ervin and Helen (Umland) Fisch. She graduated from Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach, Fla., and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Master of Science degree in administration/school supervision, both from Barry College (University) in Miami, Fla. Sister spent 29 years ministering in elementary and secondary education in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.; Miami Shores, Fla.; the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. This includes 15 years as principal at St. Rose of Lima School in Miami Shores. She also served in pastoral ministry for 37 years in Miami Shores and Plantation, Fla., which includes 26 years at St. Gregory Parish in Plantation. Sister was preceded in death by her parents. Sister Jean Rosaria is survived by her Adrian Dominican Sisters. Welcome of Sister Jean Rosaria will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in the Dominican Life Center Lobby; the Wake will follow from 6:15 to 7 p.m. in the Rose Room of the Dominican Life Center. The Reception of the Body and Vigil Prayer will be at 7 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. The Rite of Committal will be in the Congregation cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian, MI 49221. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Anderson-Mary Funeral Home, Adrian.
