In memory of
Nicholas Mazzilli, the family patriarch, of Middleboro passed away from C.O.P.D. on September 7, 2018. Nick was born in August of 1928, and he grew up in an immigrant Italian family in Jersey City, New Jersey. Nick took on the role of caregiver, learned how to accept reasonability, and care for his family as an adolescent. He learned very quickly the value of a dollar and how to double it. In 1949, Nicholas Mazzilli began his legacy by meeting and marrying his wife Angelina. Together they raised 5 children, Nicholas, Steven, Diane, Kenney, and MaryAnne. The family relocated to Massachusetts in 1959, where they built a deli in Middleborough and later in the 1970s moved the location to Wareham, where it still is in operation today. Nicholas had been a member of the National Guard, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Club, and Rotary Club. He had also given many Philanthropic contributions to underprivileged youth in surrounding communities. His favorite saying was "Nevermind tomorrow, its a beautiful day today a beautiful day today". He was a farmer, a butcher, a soprano, a comedian, lover, fighter for good causes, family man and saint. He will be missed by all those who had the fortunate moments to cross his path. The wake for Nicholas will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral procession to St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro.
