Rose M. (Knopp) Cottonbrook 1926-2018 Age 92 of Canton died Sunday evening at Danbury Senior Living. Rose was born February 2, 1926 in Bono, Ohio, the daughter of the late Martin and Rose Distel. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and prayed the Rosary daily. She was a confident, strong and independent person. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Flavil "Slim" in 1998; three sisters; eight brothers; and a grandson, Randy Knopp. She is survived by sons, Ronald (Cheryl) Knopp of Canton, David (Toni) Knopp of Barberton, Thomas (Georgeta) Knopp and Michael (Denise) Cottonbrook all of Canton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and numerous loving family and devoted friends, especially Addy Teixeira. A Mass of Christian Burial will he celebrated Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4940 Tuscarawas Street West, Canton, 44708, with Fr. G. David Wiekart as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. There will be no calling hours. The funeral procession will form at the church. The Knopp family would like to express their deep appreciation to Great Lakes Caring Hospice who provided comfort, spiritual care and counseling to mom. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if donations were made in Rose's name to the St. Joan of Arc Building Fund.
