Margaret Fehr EUREKA - Margaret Gerber Fehr, 94, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. She was born on June 14, 1924, in Ellington, CT, the daughter of Ernest and Tilly Wanner Gerber. She married Eugene Leonard Fehr on September 23, 1951, in Forrest, IL. He passed away on May 8, 2016, in Eureka, IL. Margaret is survived by four children, Dennis (Mary) Fehr of Houston, TX, Debra Fehr Greenway of Eureka, IL, Terry (Zanna) Fehr of Glendale, AZ, and Leonard Jay (Jay) Fehr of Ellington, CT; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosetta Stoller and Betty Enserink; and three brothers, Earl Gerber, Melvin Gerber and Everett Gerber. Her husband, an infant daughter, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She spent the first two years of her marriage at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, during the Korean Conflict. When she lived in Connecticut as a young wife and mother, Margaret worked at Hamilton Standard Military and Civilian Aircraft in Broadbrook. At one point, she participated in the manufacture of equipment used to monitor the respiratory rates of astronauts in flight. Later, she worked for two years in real estate, achieving top sales in her office for both years. She left the real estate field to become co-owner and operator of Fehr's Decorating and Painting in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. Margaret loved to travel, read and make arts and crafts. All who knew her liked her. Her children and grandchildren forever love her dearly. She was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the services at the church in Roanoke.
