MERIDEN - James Albert Clement, 85, of Meriden, formerly of Hamden, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Veterans Medical Center in West Haven. Born March 5, 1933 in New Haven, he was the son of the late James Clement and Edna (Holmes) Clement. Jim was a graduate of Hamden High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was co-owner of Tac's Service Station in Hamden for many years. He was a kind, gentle man who loved his family and family gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing, fixing cars and hockey. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Eaton-Clement; his sons, Edward Clement and wife Wendy and James Clement; 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his stepdaughter, Susan Eaton. He also leaves behind his very good friends Ron & Terry of Wolcott and Tony of the Village of Kensington Place in Meriden, CT where Jim, along with Joyce, resided. A special thank you to all at the West Haven Veteran's Hospital for the excellent, compassionate care Jim received for many years and the Disabled American Veterans for assisting with transportation.
