Amira Calderon PEORIA - Amira Calderon, 82, of Chatham, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 10:38 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at her residence. Amira was born on January 24, 1936, in Barranquilla, Colombia, the daughter of Raphael and Julia Carrion MaKenzie. She married Ramon Calderon on December 3, 1974, in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Peoria and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and dancing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Amira is survived by her son, Miguel (wife, Laura) Calderon of Chatham; two daughters, Marta Calderon-Moscrip (husband, Mike Moscrip) of Canton, MI, and Isabel Colvin of Belvidere; eight grandchildren, Nicholas and Lili Calderon-Moscrip, Natalie, Nathan and Andrea Colvin and Mateo, Miles and Mia Calderon; one great-granddaughter, Marlee Kramer; siblings, Ricardo, Alfredo, Roberto, Silberio, Ida, Lusminia, Alisha and America; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, following ceremonies. Family will receive friends from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 700 East Spruce Street, Chatham. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Dustin Schultz, celebrant. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
