Betty Jo Hays Sherwood
1930 ~ 2018 A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away on September 5, 2018. Born June 27, 1930 in Henderson, Texas to George Washington Hays and Dicy Cost Hays. Married to Homer S. Sherwood for 67 years. Graduated from West High 1948. Office manager for several physicians. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Homer and sister Doris. Survived by children JoLynn (Mark) Miller, Julee (John) Koffman, Marcee (Bill) Cady, Steve Sherwood, Stacee (Jeff) Riekhof, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Betty Jo served in many positions of community service and enjoyed expressing her love through her cooking. Betty Jo and Homer enjoyed campground hosting in Yellowstone for 20 years. We will celebrate her life Friday, September 14, 2018 at Centenary United Methodist Church where she was an active member for most of her life, 1740 S. 500 E., Salt Lake City, Utah at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Betty Jo Sherwood Memorial Fund at Centenary United Methodist Church.
