William H. "Bill" Keys
William (Bill) H. Keys, 88, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. He was born December 17, 1929 in Loudoun County, Virginia, and was the son of the late Bennie Ashton and Nellie Seaton Keys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha D. Keys; brother, Benton A. Keys; and sisters, Mary A. McCoy and Marjorie Keys Dorr. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Alice Keys; brother James C. Keys; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bill loved the outdoors, and as a farmer had the privilege of working on several beautiful historical farms until his retirement. In his youth he served as a volunteer at the Chantilly Fire Department and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He was a member of the Gordonsville Baptist Church. He also loved baking and received much pleasure from sharing his baked goods with others. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 3595 Grand Forks Blvd., Charlottesville, Virginia 22911. A private interment will be held at a later date. Alice would like to especially thank Dr. Bryce Kellams and his nurse, Amy, for their patience and wonderful care of her father. Thanks also to the many other doctors, nurses, caregivers, barber, Hollymead Fire Rescue, friends and family who supported Bill and Alice over the past years.
