James D. Berkey
James D. "Jim" Berkey, 61, of Hyde Park, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at home. Born March 31, 1957, in Vandergrift, he was a son of the late Donald and Mary Lou (Wyatt) Berkey. Jim was a graduate of Kiski Area School, and owner/operator of Berkey's Automotive in Hyde Park for 14 years, last working in 2016. He enjoyed working on and restoring old cars and was an animal lover, taking care of dogs and cats, and saving birds. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn McCutcheon. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Anita J. (Weiland) Berkey; brothers, John Berkey, of Leechburg, and Mark (Sandy) Berkey, of New Kensington; a stepbrother; a stepsister; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the celebration of life tribute service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg.
