Harold C. Loomis Jr.
Harold C. Loomis Jr., 90, of Rutland, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Mountain View Genesis Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Edith (Robertson) and Harold C. Loomis Sr. Mr. Loomis was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a carpenter and delivered floral arrangements and prescription drugs for Price Chopper. He volunteered at the Paramount Theatre and Marble Valley Players Association. Mr. Loomis was a former member of the Rutland Masonic Lodge. Survivors include four children David Loomis, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, Peter Loomis, of Hinesburg, Nancy Lyman, Halle Jane Loomis, both of Rutland; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Faith Havens, and a brother, Thomas Loomis. Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Clifford Funeral Home, where Anne Dodd, of the Christian Scientists Church of Rutland, will provide a reading at 2:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk (BMJFW), in care of Leslie Loomis, 46 Cranberry Road, North Attleboro, MA 02760 or online at https://bit.ly/2MOJhkt .
