NORTHPORT - Aubury Olen Burgess, age 89, of Northport, Ala., passed away September 6, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama. The graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. John Drawhorn officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Doughty Burgess; sister, Maudine Madison; and brothers-in-law, Roy Madison and Norwood Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Burgess; son, Randy Burgess (Irene); grandchildren, Chris Burgess (Paige), Laura Thomas (Michael) and Jon Burgess; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and niece, Deloris McMullen (Tommy). Mr. Burgess served in the United States Army, Army Reserve, and Naval Reserve. He retired from DCH Regional Medical Center. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Randy Starnes, Michael Thomas, Chris Burgess, Jon Burgess, Bobby Davis and Bobby Booth. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Debra Davis and employees and former employees of DCH and employees and former employees of Randall Reilly Publishing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or to Eagles Wings, Inc., 12379 Eagles Wings Drive, Coker, AL 35452.
