DONALD DAVID BARCOMB SR. 1952 - 2018 PLAINFIELD - Donald died at the Colonial Health and Rehab. Center in Plainfield surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness. Don was born on January 15, 1952 in Putnam CT to Frederick S. Barcomb Sr. and Marjorie Barcomb-Desorcy. Don enlisted in U.S. Army at the age of 17. He served two years in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1971. He then worked at various jobs. In his later years he graduated from Springfield college on the Dean's list and from Central CT State University with a Masters Degree in Family and Marriage Psychology, Donald had a passionate love for music and was the drummer for a couple of local bands. He also enjoyed photography, organic gardening and gourmet cooking. Don will be remembered as a person with a great smile who was loving, caring and always had a kind and encouraging word for everyone. Don is survived by his three children, David, Aja and Donnie Barcomb, 9 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, four sisters Roberta Parenteau, Donna Larkins, Bonnie Funaro and Alice Owens as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Frederick S. Barcomb Jr. A Graveside Service, with full military honors, will be held at the Veterans State Cemetery on 317 Bow Lane, Middletown CT Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Please visit www.baconfh.com to register your condolences online.
