Judy A. Gecha
Judith Ann "Judy" Gecha, 76, of Rutland, died Monday evening, Sept. 3, 2018, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 24, 1942, in Rutland, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Gallipo) Pockette. Mrs. Gecha graduated from the Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1960. She married Robert A. Gecha on May 19, 1962. Mrs. Gecha was employed by the Rutland Regional Medical Center as the food service supervisor, Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, and since 1992, operated Judy's Day Care until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Peter Church. Mrs. Gecha loved to knit and go to the casino. Survivors include her husband, Robert, a son, Jeffrey Gecha and his wife, Debra, two grandchildren Kelsey and Adam, all of Rutland; a great-grandson, Kade; a sister, Cherie Hall, of Rutland; a brother, David Pockette, of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Phillip A. Pockette, on May 21, 2015. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at the Aldous Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foley Cancer Center, 160 Allen St., Rutland, VT 05701.
