Ruth Eloise Landers
Ruth Eloise Landers, 91, of Hokes Bluff, recently residing at Northside Nursing Home, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at Crestwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Anthony Copeland will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. She was born to Essie and William Harden in Cullman County on July 11, 1927. Eloise was one of six children raised on their farm. Her career spanned over 40 years and included Stanley Home Products, Fuller Brush, Fordham Transfer, Fuller Vision, and Farm Bureau. Ms. Landers retired in 1971 to pursue her favorite endeavors: sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, ceramics, painting, gardening, cooking, and baking. Always busy and always in charge, taking care of her family and loved ones. Eloise was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist in Hokes Bluff. Ms. Landers is survived by her daughter, Linda Hopper; son, Michael (Sharon) Fuller; brother, James (Carol) Harden; grandchildren, Pam (Ricky) Barnes, Chad (Leslie) Fuller; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Roy Landers; her parents, Essie and William Harden; siblings, Agnes (Robert) Cosby, Grace (H.B.) Holloway, Howel (Hazel) Harden, Mary (T.L.) Cannon; and grandson, Shane Hopper. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church, Tommy Spinks, and Chad Fuller. Special thanks to Dr. Courtney Lowe, Nurse Carley Ledbetter, Northside Nursing, and Comfort Care Hospice. Family will accept friends from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Crestwood Funeral Home.
