In memory of
Wanda Lowe Edmondson
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Crestwood Funeral Home for Wanda Lowe Edmondson. The Rev. Kevin Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Wanda met her Savior and was reunited with her beloved husband, John, on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at the age of 85. She lived her life with a servant's heart. She loved serving her Lord and was a faithful partner in her husband's ministry until his passing in 1991. Their love for God and for each other was apparent as they worked together in ministry. Wanda taught many children through the years in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, sharing the love of her Savior with them all. Wanda, known as Maw Maw to her family since the birth of her first grandchild in 1985, selflessly served her family and always put our needs before her own. She was an excellent cook, and we will forever miss her chicken fingers, strawberry cake, and the fellowship and laughter we enjoyed around her table. She supported us in every endeavor, and has left a rich legacy that will bless us for the rest of our lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John N. Edmondson; father, the Rev. Jerome H. Lowe; mother Ilah Smalley Lowe; and infant brother, J.W. Lowe. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Amy Edmondson McAfee; son, Charlie Knight (Connie) Edmondson; grandchildren, Nicholas McAfee, Leah McAfee, Chris (Lindsey) Edmondson, Ryan (Shane) Lancaster and Bella Edmondson; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jerri Lowe Troutman; and special nephew, Jason Troutman. The family would like to give special thanks to Wanda's caregivers at Mountain Cove Assisted Living and at Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018.
