Socorro G. Saenz
Socorro G. Saenz, 81 years of age, gained her angel wings and entered to enteral rest on Sunday, September 2, 2018 with her loving family at her side. She was born on October 1, 1936 to Abelardo and Zoila Valadez Gonzalez in La Bandera Community. She was a self-employed entrepreneur. She, alongside of her late husband owned and operated Saenz's Texaco since 1975. She dedicated herself to her business and her children. She was a strong and courageous woman, who was not afraid to take on difficult tasks. She was a generous and kind-hearted mother and grandmother; her children and grandchildren were her life. Mama Coco as her grandchildren affectionally called her, was the heart of the Gonzalez- Saenz family. She could be found at any given day and time helping her children at the family business of Saenz Cowboys Barbeque. She lived a glorious, happy and fun filled life. She is now reunited with God; her parents and the love of her life her late husband, Eladio "Yayo" Saenz, who left us 17 years ago. She leaves behind to cherish her memories and legacy, one daughter, Leticia L. Saenz of Alice, Texas; three sons, Mario Alberto (Monica A.) Saenz of Alice, Texas, Javier Eladio (Selina) Saenz of Corpus Christi, Texas and Eddie (Mickey) Saenz of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Abelardo Gonzalez Jr. of Alice, Texas and Adalberto (Lupita) Gonzalez of Gonzalitos Community; three grandchildren, Edward Joseph Saenz, Sarah S. (Edward) Ochoa and Marina Alexia Saenz; step grandchildren, J.R. (Sandra) Longoria and Allie (John) Pena and three great grandchildren, Ethan Lopez, Johanna Longoria and Bentley Pena. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 5 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Alice Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Adalberto Gonzalez Jr, Alejandro Gonzalez, Alvaro Gonzalez, Abelardo Gonzalez III, A.J. Lopez, Isaac Lopez and Edward J.
